Traditional elements in contemporary style at concert in Tiruchi
TIRUCHI: It was a presentation of traditional elements in contemporary style. Swastika Self-Improvement Centre organised recently a keyboard music concert, Enzelata, to expose students to various forms of western classical music.
The concert packed quite a few carnatic and film numbers to enthuse the audience. Able support from guitar and few vocalists from a musical troupe enhanced the quality of the concert. The adroit fingers of students moved through the keyboard with ease, and the beginners devotedly observed the nuances of fast and slow beats.
"It's a concert of teachers," said the centre Director, B. Harilakshmi. "It is to infuse confidence in students on concert performances and to teach them the basics of such concerts."
