Collector Ajay Yadav has directed the officials of Rural Development Department to ensure that power scarcity did not disrupt drinking water supply in rural areas.

He was presiding over a meeting convened by him to review the progress of the schemes of the department at the Collectorate here on Wednesday.

Mr. Yadav asked the officials to expedite the works taken up under the MLAs Constituency Development Fund, road works and deep borewell works.

Rural job scheme

He said that all works under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme should be implemented 100 % in the district.

The Collector asked the officials to ensure that all those constructing houses in village panchayats obtained the building plan approval from the panchayats, and that the house owners paid property tax and water tax promptly. He asked the officials to collect tax for the advertisement hoardings erected in the villages.
