Hindi essay writing, Hindi noting and drafting, rendering Hindi songs, oratorical, quiz and memory test competitions marked the Hindi week celebrations held for four days at National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) near here recently.
Colonel S. Ved Nayagam, Group Commander, NCC Group, Tiruchi, was the chief guest at the valediction held on the NRCB premises on Saturday and he gave away prizes to the winners of the competitions. Col. Ved Nayagam emphasized importance of promoting Hindi as official language and necessity of learning Hindi as ‘Rastriya Bhasha’. M.M. Mustaffa, Director, NRCB, said one-third of the total office employees have participated in the Hindi activities and this was much higher compared to last year. K.N. Shiva, senior scientist and member secretary, Official Language Implementation Committee of the NRCB, and K.J. Jeyabhaskaran, senior scientist, spoke.
