Distribution of Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) would be organised in connection with the National Voters Day observed on January 25, Collector K. Vivekanandan has said.
Speaking at a meeting with officials of government departments here Thursday, Mr. Vivekanandan said collage and slogan writing contests for college students and painting and quiz contests for school students would be organised. Competitions for women would also be held by the Mahalir Thittam and self help groups.
Rally to create awareness should be conducted in all the taluks. Pledge on National Voters’ Day should be administered to all the students in the prayer in all the colleges.
Banners should be erected in all the colleges.
The training programme for the booth level officers will be held on January 10. The Officials of the Pudhu Vazhvu, Mahalir Thittam and Nehru Yuva Kendra should also conduct awareness programmes in all the villages.
The meeting was attended by the Personal Assistant to Collector (General) H. Rahmathullakhan, Dharmapuri Revenue Divisional Officer P. Menaka, Election Tahsildhar R. Kamalanathan.
