TAMBARAM: A 24-year-old man, T.Karthikeyan, and seven others have lodged a complaint with the Chennai Suburban Police Commissioner that they were cheated by a man based in Rajakilpakkam near Tambaram with promises of getting them lucrative jobs in Australia.

In their grievance petition to Commissioner S.R.Jangid on Tuesday, the youths said they came in contact with Premnath, who had promised them desk jobs in five-star hotels in Australia, during 2008.

Each of the youths had paid sums ranging between Rs.25,000 and Rs.50,000 to Premnath.

They neither got the job nor did Premnath return their money.

The Commissioner directed the personnel of the Central Crime Branch to conduct investigations.
