Education is the only instrument that can transform society, said Thavathiru Kundrakudi Ponnambala Adigalar, the head of Kundrakudi Mutt.

The students should pursue their goals with unwavering commitment and must leave no stone unturned in achieving them, he said while speaking at the ‘Sugathara Pongal’ organised by the A.C.Muthiah Primary Health Care Centre at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, P.Alagapuri near here, recently. The ‘adigalar’ urged the students to shun inhibitions and face the future with total confidence.

The ‘adigalar’ recalled the yeoman services rendered by Swami Vivekananda on his 150th birth anniversary.

Thavathiru Adigalar commissioned a water purification plant at the school donated by A.C.Muthiah Medical Foundation. K.Mahadevan, head-personal and administration, MAC Charities, explained the initiatives of the trust for providing better amenities to the rural poor.

The trust has already commissioned a mineral water plant at Kulathupatti village of Tirumayam taluk.

The same was handed over to a self help group of the village, and is being run successfully.

Muthulakshmi, headmistress of the school, thanked ACM charities for donating the water purification plant. Subburam, former MLA, thanked the ACM charities for its gesture.

P.Alagapuri, panchayat president, was present.

The health workers of A.C.Muthiah Primary Health Care Centres created awareness on health and hygiene through folk songs.
