VILLUPURAM: The drive against fake ration cards will be intensified in the district from August 1, according to C. Kathiravan, Collector in-charge.

He said in a release that card-holders should register the change of address or corrections in the cards with the respective fair price shops before July 28.

From August 1, the district administration would deploy 1,851 field staff and 190 superintendents to verify the cards. The cards that are found fake or those that did not carry out the necessary corrections would be declared ineligible to lift entitlements.
