CHENNAI: “Members of ‘Dragon Boys' rock. We can dance, sing and play games,” said Satheesh and Praveen as they watched their friends enjoy a ride on the baby train at VGP Golden Beach here on Wednesday. The children, inmates of Dazzling Stone Orphanage near Kundrathur, enjoyed their day out at the resort thanks to the third anniversary celebrations of G4S Security Services India Pvt. Ltd.

This small group of 10 naughty youngsters that included tiny Manikandan and icecream-loving Thamizharasan always seemed to roam about together. The children also shook hands with cartoon characters, ate pink cotton candy and badly wanted to go on the bumper cars, which were only meant for adults.

With “Happy Day” shouts braving the sun, the Angel Girls team, comprising young girls – V. Radhika, B. Poornima, A.Punita, R. Swetha, N. Aarthi, K. Vijayalakshmi, K. Bagyalakshmi, B. Rajeshwari, P. Jayadurga, P. Jayabharathi, C. Lakshmi, D.Jayanthi and E.Mahalakshmi — had fun and frolic. The girls said they enjoyed the day and that it was a pleasure to spend time as a large group.

A total of 67 children were given t-shirts, caps, gift packs containing an assortment of goodies and lunch. They entertained the staff of G4S in the afternoon. Hector Rozaario, Managing Director (South), G4S Security Services said the programme was a way of making a difference in the lives of the children. He said in Tamil Nadu “Happy Day” was celebrated in Chennai and Coimbatore.
