PERAMBALUR: Door-to-door verification of family cards to eliminate the bogus cards is currently nearing completion in the district.

In a press release issued here on Saturday, the District Collector, M. Vijayakumar, said that about 98 per cent of the door-to-door verification process had been completed in the district.

Earlier, in a video conferencing session, the District Collector explained the progress of the work to the Secretary to Government for Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection, K. Shanmugam and the Commissioner, K. Rajaraman.

The verification process would be completed by September 10, the Collector had added.
