Krishnagiri: The district administration has asked residual voters to take photographs for inclusion in the photo electoral rolls within January 31.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Collector Santhosh Babu said that the door-to-door verification and photographing of voters was underway in all the Assembly constituencies in Krishnagiri district. Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) had been issued to 86 per cent of voters in the district till date. Steps have been initiated to ensure that the images of remaining voters are included in the photo electoral rolls before January 31.

Officials were carrying out door-to-door exercise to photograph residual voters in all the Assembly segments. Voters going out of station could give their photographs to the family to be handed over to the team members. Mr. Babu said that a local inquiry would be conducted and notices would be issued to those who were yet to take photographs. The photographing exercise would be held in all the revenue villages in the district till January 31. The Dharmapuri district administration has got 35 cameras to photograph voters for inclusion in the photo electoral rolls in all the taluks in the district, said Collector Pankaj Kumar Bansal here on Thursday.

Residual voters who were not available during the exercise could take their photographs on or before January 20.
