CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Tuesday said the names of the constituencies to be contested by the DMK would be announced in a few days.
In a statement here, he said the DMK’s seat-sharing committee had a round of discussion with Congress leaders on seat allocation.
He said talks were going on to finalise the alliance partners and the seats to be allotted to them.
Mr. Karunanidhi said as many as 1,500 DMK members had filed application expressing their desire to contest the 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
“Though there is a widespread opinion in favour of giving opportunity to new faces, we cannot select only new faces,” he said.
