The State president of BJP, Pon. Radhakrishnan, demanded the Dravida Munnetta Kazhagam to withdraw its support to United Progressive Alliance Government involved in anti-people policies like raising the prices of petroleum products, allowing FDI in retail business etc as it would adversely affect the people from all walks of life.

He said on Wednesday that the UPA Government was marred by scams starting from Bofors, 2-G spectrum, coalgate and hence it had no moral right to continue in power. Moreover, it was unfair on the part of the Government to hike the prices of petroleum products and reduce the subsidy given to cooking gas cylinders. However the DMK which had been concentrating on focusing itself as the champion of the poor should withdraw its support to UPA Government following the Trinamool Congress which withdrew its support on moral grounds.

He also sought the cooperation of all opposition parties for the successful conduct of ‘Bharat Bandh’ to be observed on Thursday. He also predicted an early Lok Sabha election and hence appealed the party cadres to be prepared to face it.
