TIRUCHI: First-year MBA 2009-10 batch students admitted through the Centre for Distance Education, Bharathidasan University, during September – October have urged the university to postpone the first semester examination, reasoning out that the short duration between the publication of time table and the start of the examinations was insufficient to prepare well.

According to the students who have been enrolled for the course at the Jamal Mohamed College PCP (Personal Contact Programme) Centre, the classes started on October 3, 2009, and the admissions were carried out till the end of that month. They complained that most of the classes were not conducted properly due to absence of faculty, and that the syllabiof all the papers were yet to be covered.

They said that since the examination was scheduled for start on December 21, within eight days of the completion of the last seminar class, the duration was not enough to prepare for six papers of PG standard. Having spent huge amounts of money towards tuition and examination fees, they said, they expected a minimum time of 20 days to prepare for the examination.
