Dronacharya Awards presented to best teachers

SALEM: Students of various schools and colleges in the city on Wednesday presented gifts, flower bouquets and sweets to the teachers and performed cultural programmes in view of the Teachers Day.

Teachers were honoured by the students and the administrative staff members in the schools. In Gugai Corporation Girls HSS, Pavadi Corporation HSS and Fort Government Girls HSS, students presented small gifts and flowers to the teachers.

At St. Marys Girls Higher Secondary School , students showered flower petals and presented bouquets to the teachers. Speaking on the occasion, students highlighted the vital role played by the teachers in the development of nation. Cultural programmes marked the day. Similar programmes were held at most schools in the city. In a few schools, students honoured the retired teachers.

At the Teachers Day celebrations organised by the Tanishq, the jewellery shop, Dronacharya Awards were presented to best college teachers.
