Hundreds of people thronged Gori Shola, a well known pilgrimage spot near here, on Thursday.

The occasion was the annual urs of Hazrath Peer Syed Hassan Shah Khadri. The final resting place of the Saint atop Gori Shola was stated to be over a hundred years old.

With the sky remaining clear the devotees hailing from different strata of society flocked to the hill.

As the popularity of the annual celebrations was growing considerably, the dargah has become a place of pilgrimage for people from various parts of the Nilgiris and other places. Amid considerable religious fervour the present Muthavali of the dargah Oomer Razack Sait led the devotees in prayer and a procession of sacred containers.
