Party condemns water ‘fanatics’

TIRUCHI: Members of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) staged demonstrations in the city and Srirangam on Friday condemning politicians and Kannada “fanatics” who were bent on stopping the Hogenakkal drinking water project.

The demonstration organised near the Collectorate in the city was headed by party district secretary K. Umanath. The demonstrators also condemned the attack on Tamils in Karnataka and demanded protection for them. The party members staged demonstration in front of the taluk office in Srirangam.

Meanwhile, advocates in the city and elsewhere in the district boycotted courts condemning the Kannada “fanatics” for opposing the drinking water project .
