Nearly 450 telegrams were sent to the National Highways Authority of India from Coimbatore on Friday demanding widening of 7.5-km road from Kangeyampalayam to Neelambur junction.

Narrow stretch

While the NH 67 was widened till Kangeyampalayam and beyond Neelambur junction, it was still a narrow stretch for the 7.5 km that passed through Sulur town.

Telegrams

The number of accidents was going up on this road and there was a dire need to widen the road, according to those who sent the telegrams on Friday. Members from different political parties sent the telegrams on Friday.
