PMK wants announcement made in the Assembly
SALEM: Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) president G. K. Mani has urged that Centre should ensure that the war in the Island Nation should be stopped.
After inspecting the arrangements for the PMK women wing’s anti-liquor conference scheduled here on November 6, the PMK leader said that in fact the all-party meeting on the issue also expressed the same view. He, however, insisted that the issue should not be politicised.
He also demanded that Mettur should be carved out of Salem as a new district. He hoped that Chief Minister would announce the same in the forthcoming Assembly session.
Similarly, Ambattur should be declared as a separate Corporation.
Earlier, accompanied by party leaders he inspected the arrangements for the conference at the Bose Maidan in which PMK founder leader Dr. S. Ramadoss, Union Minister of health Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss and others would participate.
