CHENNAI: The Indian Vegetarian Congress (IVC) has appealed to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to serve cereals, instead of eggs, in the noon meal scheme.

In a statement, the IVC said vegetarian nutrients such as cereals, pulses, vegetables and fruits were more economical.

The IVC said they were ready to provide nutritious ‘Sweet Sathu Maavu Laddu’ and fruits to the children under the noon meal scheme.
