CPI, CPI(M) cadres stage protest; raise slogans against Centre
: Cadres of Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Tuesday staged a protest here demanding the Centre to enact a strong Lokpal bill.
It was part of the nation-wide call given by nine parties. Around 100 persons took part in the agitation.
Raising slogans against the Central government, the protestors said that the Centre had failed to act decisively against corruption, which was rampant during the United Progressive Alliance regime.
The protestors said that in spite of nation-wide agitations demanding tough action against corruption, the government was not listening to the popular demand.
