Udhagamandalam: With the South India Kennel Club (SIKC) putting up an excellent show despite heavy rain and difficulty encountered by participants and the visitors in reaching the venue owing to the distance and traffic congestion, the curtain came down on the 2009 dog shows in this hill station on Sunday. While the obedience tests were organised on Friday, an impressive all-breeds show of the Madras Canine Club was held on Saturday.
Pointing out that despite odds, the shows had provided a visual treat to a large number of people in general and dog lovers in particular, the President, SIKC, D. Krishnamurthy, told ‘The Hindu’ that they continued to be one of the major attractions during the summer tourist season here.
About 340 dogs, representing a large number of breeds, participated.
