The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Tamil Nadu State Committee has welcomed seven new schemes that were announced by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Monday.

In a press release, CPI (M) State secretary G. Ramakrishnan on Tuesday said “it is a new beginning. Apart from implementing the schemes as announced in the AIADMK party election manifesto, the government should take steps on a continuous basis to address other problems.”

Manithaneya Makkal Katchi president M.H. Jawahirullah congratulated the Chief Minister and urged her to fulfil the election manifesto and set up fishermen protection force among other issues. — Special Correspondent
