Senior leaders studied reasons for the defeat of party candidates
Tirupur: The two-day meeting of the State Executive Committee of the Communist Party of India has analysed the party’s performance in the recently held by-elections to the State Assembly.
Party sources told The Hindu here on Thursday at the end of the meeting that senior leaders evaluated the exact reasons for the defeat of their candidates in Bargur (Krishnagiri district) and Srivaikundam (Tuticorin district) constituencies.
The meeting also discussed the steps to be taken to strengthen the party organ Janasakthi, the sources said.
The meeting was attended by State secretary D. Pandian, national secretary D. Raja, State joint secretaries C. Mahendran and G. Palanisamy, and former Member of Parliament K. Subbarayan.
