Party plans demonstration before Parliament on March 4
HOSUR: The State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has accused the Central and State Governments in failing to control the spiralling inflation.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Pandian also accused the Union Government of adopting wrong economic policies which has led to steep increase in prices of essential commodities.
He said allowing the foreign direct investments was one of the reasons for the price rise and reduction of agricultural produce.
Mr. Pandian said the trade unions affiliated to the CPI would stage a demonstration before Parliament on March 4 condemning the hike in prices of essential commodities.
It also planned to hold series of agitations in the state. Mr. Pandian said the law and order in the State has deteriorated.
He said the burgeoning industrial activities in and around Hosur town has resulted in land prices increasing steeply.
He said the CPI welcomed the decision of the Election Commission to postpone the elections. T. Ramachandran,
Thaly MLA, was also present during the press conference.
Later, he also addressed the demonstration staged by the Tamilnadu Vivasayigal Sangam in front of the Hosur taluk office.
