CHENNAI: The summer vacation for the High Court’s principal seat in Chennai will be from May 1 to June 8.

While Justices G. Rajasuria, T. Sudanthiram and M. Sathyanarayanan will be the vacation judges for the first part from May 1 to May 18, Justices K. Venkataraman, M. Venugopal and Sathyanarayanan will be the judges from May 19 to June 1, and Justices A.C. Arumugaperumal Adityan, G. Rajasuria and S. Nagamuthu from June 2 to June 8. The filing days will be May 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26 and 30 and June 2. The sitting days will be May 6, 13, 20, 27 and June 3.

Justices Rajasuria and Sathyanarayanan will first sit on a Division bench for disposal of urgent Bench matters. After Bench work, they will sit single. Justice T. Sudanthiram will sit single.

Similarly, Justices Venkataraman and Sathyanarayanan will be the Division Bench and will later sit single. Justice Venugopal will sit single. Justices Arumugaperumal Adityan and Nagamuthu will sit on a Division Bench and later sit single. Justice Rajasuria will sit single.

No application should be presented at the residences of the vacation judges under any circumstances. The judges will sit in the vacation court from 10.30 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. No lunch motion shall be entertained, according to a notification.

Notification for the summer vacation for the Madurai Bench will be issued separately by the Registrar (Administration) of the Bench.
