The Madras High Court on Wednesday reserved orders on two petitions filed by the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, in the ‘gifts case' against her.

The prosecution case pertained to the alleged acceptance by her of 89 demand drafts worth Rs.two crore on her birthday in 1992. The CBI investigated the case and filed the charge sheet.

Ms.Jayalalithaa moved the high court seeking to quash the entire proceedings. She also filed another petition challenging an order of the Special Court for CBI cases dismissing her application seeking discharge from the case.

Justice K.N.Basha reserved orders on conclusion of arguments.
