The Madras High Court has directed Bharti Cellular Limited, Santhome, to give effect immediately to the “Do Not Disturb” (DND) facility activated on two cell phone numbers of K. Ramakrishna Reddy, an advocate, of Anna Nagar, pending disposal of a writ petition filed by him against the company.

The petitioner said the company had given access to commercial/promotional SMS and calls. The petitioner said he was a chronic kidney patient. The messages and phone calls caused disturbance. He sent a complaint to TRAI in October 2011.
