: With the Ministry of Railways announcing revision of passenger fares with effect from January 22, the divisional railway authorities have earmarked counter no.6 at Tiruchi junction reservation office to realise the difference in fare for tickets already issued at pre-revised rates.

A Southern Railway press release here said in case of tickets already issued at pre-revised rates, the difference in fare and other charges had to be paid by the passengers.

Passengers could contact the nearest reservation office/designated counter in the reservation office or special counter opened at major stations and pay the difference in fare well in advance of their journey.

In case passengers were unable to do so, they could pay the difference in fare to the ticket checking staff on the train. The release further said passengers could approach special enquiry counter at Tiruchi junction platform 1 to remit the amount. Such arrangements have also been made in Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai and Puducherry railway stations.
