The SRM University counselling session for admission to under-graduate and post-graduate courses in various disciples will commence on June 12.
Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, R. Muthusubramanian, Director (Admissions), SRM University, said that the process would be open and transparent. “We have started sending out counselling call letters. The first 10,000 rank holders in the B.Tech entrance will be invited for the counselling session that is set to take place between June 12 and June 16. Admissions for M.Tech, MBA and MCA will take place on June 17 and 18.”
Out of the 1,36,126 candidates who registered to take the SRM University All India Entrance Examination (SRMEEE 2011), 1,10,335 appeared for B.Tech, 2,468 for M.Tech, 1,376 for MBA and 972 for MCA programmes. The examination was held on April 23 across India at over 200 centres.
Vaibhav Kumar of Ranchi, Jharkhand, secured the first rank in the entrance examination.
The second and third rank holders are T.Ramprasad of Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) and Kumar Gopal of Patna (Bihar), respectively.
Mr. Muthusubramanian said that the results have been published on www.srmuniv.ac.in. “They have also been sent via SMS to all the candidates. Rank cards are being despatched to all those who appeared for the examination.”
Giving details about the scholarships available, N.Sethuraman, Registrar of the University, said that the top 10 rank holders would be eligible for the founder's scholarship which would entitle them to a 100 per cent waiver on tuition fees, hostel fees and also a stipend of Rs.1,000 per annum.
Merit scholarships are also available for candidates who have an aggregate of 95 per cent or above in Maths, Physics and Chemistry or Biology.
