Top human resources experts from leading industries on Friday said motivation for workers should come from within and could not arise from outside.

Speaking at the ‘Corporate Conclave’ organized by the VIT Business School, Chennai, the panellists, headed by S. Jayavelu from IIM-Kozhikode, said the concept of motivation had changed now.

The chancellor of VIT, G. Viswanathan, inaugurating the conclave, said India excelled in the service sector but other countries were doing better in the manufacturing sector.

V. Raju, vice chancellor, VIT, Anand A. Samuel, pro vice chancellor, VIT University Chennai campus and Kalyani Rangarajan , dean, VIT Business School, Chennai, also spoke at the conclave.
