KARUR: The Collector (in-charge), C. Munirathinam, has called upon the public to cooperate with the field personnel who visit the households in Karur district in connection with the census and house listing works to be carried out between June 1 and July 15 in the district.

Mr. Munirathinam has observed that field enumerators would visit every household to enlist details and compile data on inmates.

The field enumerators would be gathering data on house listing and national population enumeration census.

The house listing process includes collection of data on the name of the head of the family, total members in the family, material nature of the house, access to safe drinking water facility, kitchen and toilet facilities, household articles including automobiles, communication and computer facilities. Well ahead of the visit of the field personnel, people should note down the details required by the enumerators so that their work might be easy and less cumbersome.

Data on national population census registry includes that of the head of the family, members in the family, date of birth, marital status, work or profession, details of temporary residence and permanent residence.

The field enumerators would ask the house inmates for those data and fill up the prescribed forms. Rather than searching for data when the enumerator comes calling, the public could make note of those required data on a piece of paper before hand and simply present those details during the enumerator's visit to their household so that the work of both becomes easy, Mr. Munirathinam has added.
