‘Pixel Academix Talent Fest 2008’
MADURAI: A contest on animation, graphics and its related fields — ‘Pixel Academix Talent Fest 2008’ — held here witnessed a large turnout.
The contest consisted two-dimensional and three dimensional animated clips, face modelling and expressions, Photoshop designs, Flash, web designing, Microsoft Paint and Clay Modelling.
Schools, including Mahatma Montessori Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Velammal Matriculation School, MAVMM Higher Secondary School, and Jain Vidyalaya participated in the inter-district event, according to a press release from Pixel Academix, event organiser.
The aim was to create awareness in Madurai about the animation industry, jobs in which are considered to be lucrative.
No impact on the industry
Even the global slowdown has not affected the sector much, according to National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), the trade body representing the interests of Indian IT and BPO, the release said.
It must be made known to students interested in animation.
Pixel Academix is the Animation Training arm of Sanra Software. It has taken this initiative in Madurai for the first time to create awareness among school students.
College graduates would be “pooled” in the next endeavour, centre director A. Raju said.
