The Commissionerate of Municipal Administration, Chennai, has appointed a consultant from New Delhi to prepare a detailed project report on the Pallapatti and the Dadampatti lake.

Located near the Three Roads in the city, the Pallapatti lake spread on a 44-acre-land was a major groundwater recharge. Water from Yercaud Hills served as its major source. Encroachments and construction activities on the pathway ha turned lake dry. At present the lake is filled with sewage.
