A construction worker was severely injured after falling at a half-constructed building in the premises of the office of the police commissioner here on Thursday.

The police said, around 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, when Sanchara Nayak (20) was working in the second floor of the building that is under construction, he slipped and fell.

He sustained severe head injuries and was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Teynampet.

Condition critical

Sanchara is in a critical condition now, police sources said.

They are investigating to ascertain if he had taken necessary precautions while he was working.
