MADURAI: A Railway Protection Force constable, M. Balasubramanian (30), attached to Egmore RPF station and a Madurai armed reserve police constable, P. Senthil Kumar (31), were arrested on charges of assaulting a railway Travelling Ticket Examiner at the railway station here on Monday. According to police, the TTE R. Boominathan found the duo inside a parcel van of the Chennai-bound Nellai Superfast Express. The RPF constable had claimed that he wanted to go to Chennai but he could not produce a valid pass or a ticket. The other person had come to see him off.

When the TTE objected to his travelling without a valid ticket, the duo had allegedly assaulted him. The Tamil Nadu Railway police arrested them.
