E.V.K.S. Elangovan, former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president and the party’s candidate-designate for Tirupur Lok Sabha constituency, said no one could rout Congress in the State as the party had a rich tradition and people know the good things the party did for them.

“The Congress will fare well in the elections,” he said during an informal chat with reporters while on a visit to Tirupur to meet party workers on Friday evening.

He said that steps taken by him as a Union Minister of State for Textiles had helped catapult the industrial status of Tirupur knitwear cluster to greater heights.
