The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) will continue to demand that India should vote for the US-sponsored resolution against the Sri Lankan government for its alleged human rights violations during the last days of war against Tamil militants, its president B.S.Gnanadesikan has reiterated.

In a statement here, he said TNCC had always been demanding a probe into the human rights violations against Sri Lankan Tamils.

He pointed out that he led a team of MPs from Tamil Nadu to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard on March 13 and Dr. Singh had assured him and the delegation that the final decision on voting could be taken only after seeing the full resolution to be moved in the United Nations Human rights Council.

Mr.Gnanadesikan said all the Congress Ministers and MPs are unanimous in this regard and “there is absolutely no difference of opinion”.
