CHENNAI: Congress MLAs, led by their floor leader D. Sudarssanam, met Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday.

The members were reported to have expressed their dissatisfaction over the execution of works in their constituencies. Mr. Sudarssanam said the party MLAs told the Minister that panchayat roads in many parts of the State were not properly maintained. Drinking water supply was inadequate in many villages.

In Tirukovilur steps had not been taken for constructing a new bus stand though a former Congress MLA had donated 4.5 acres four years ago.

According to the MLAs, officials in their constituencies were reluctant to carry out civic works suggested by them. They brought this to the notice of the Minister.
