CHENNAI: Much to the delight of Congress party workers, senior State leadersbelonging to various factions are coming together to celebrate the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi's Satyagraha movement.

The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee is organising the centenary celebrations at the party's State headquarters here on March 18.

Apart from all four Union Ministers belonging to Tamil Nadu, Union Tourism Minister Ambika Soni and Congress Working Committee member M. Veerappa Moily, in-charge of party affairs in Tamil Nadu, are also participating. TNCC president M. Krishnasswamy told The Hindu on Friday that a week-long photo exhibition on the Satyagraha movement was being organised and would be inaugurated by Ms. Soni.

Mr. Moily would release a book, `Tamils, Tamil Nadu and Gandhi.' Union Minister of State for Programme Implementation G.K. Vasan would receive it. Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, Union Panchayat Raj Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar and Minister of State for Textiles E.V.K.S. Elangovan will attend.
