Two conferences planned by the Departments of English and Chemistry of Government Arts College, Tiruvannamalai, in the first week of April have been postponed.

This is owing to unexpected holiday of the college for couple of weeks following student protests on Sri Lanka issue.

Principal R. Rajasekaran told The Hindu that the State-level conference on ‘Dimensions in translation studies’ scheduled for April 1 and 2 have been postponed to April 15 and 16.

Mini Krishnan, Editor, Translations, Oxford University Press, Chennai, would be delivering a lecture. Participants could contact N. Jagadeeswari, convener of the conference, for further details on 94434-45516.

Mr. Rajasekaran said that the ‘National conference on nano materials’ scheduled for April 3 and 4 has also been postponed to April 17 and 18. R. Jayavel, Director, Centre for Nano Sciences and Technology, Anna University, would be delivering lecture. G.
