For recruitment in Army, Navy and Air Forces
NAGAPATTINAM: Competitive exams for the recruitment of officers for the three forces of Army, Navy and Air is scheduled to be held on September 19, 2010. Unmarried women and men are eligible to apply .
Applications are available at designated post offices on payment of Rs.20 and submissions should be made by May 17. Further, online submission are permitted before May 10, by downloading the form at www.upsc.gov.in
For the Army, unmarried male applicants should have been born between July 2, 1989 and July 1, 1992 and should have secured a degree from a recognized university.
For the Navy, unmarried male applicants should have been born between July 2, 1989 and July 1, 1992 and should have secured a degree in BSc or BE, with natural science and maths as subjects in standard XII.
Similarly, for recruitment in Air Force, unmarried applicants should have been born between July 2, 1988 and July 1, 1992 and should have secured a degree or BE from a recognized university, with natural science and maths as subjects in standard XII.
For recruitments under Short Service Commission, women and men should have been born between July 2, 1986 and July 1, 1992. Male applicants for SSC, may be married or unmarried and should possess a graduation from a recognized university. As for women, single, or widowed women without children are eligible to apply for the services. Applications shall be sent to the Union Public Service Commission, along with a stamp of Rs.100. Stamp charges are waived for women and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
The format for SSC recruitment exams would have a section on English and one on general studies.
Recruitment exam for the other aforementioned forces, would host questions on analytical reasoning and mathematics along with the test of English language and general studies.
