Students Creative Association (SCA), a community-based association, is holding an event in the city on Saturday for special children. Titled ‘Young Expressions (YE),’ the event aims at providing a platform for the special children to bring out their skills. The programmes planned include group singing, group dancing, fancy dress and painting competitions.

According to a release from SCA secretary G. Pradeep, this event had been held since 2008. With a response of around 2,500 students from 38 schools in and around Coimbatore for the inaugural event, the YE had grown exponentially over the years.

Cash awards, gold coins, gift vouchers, discount coupons and a rolling trophy for the overall champion are given to the students to encourage them. Further details could be obtained from Syed Zameer, president, SCA, on 97511 26280, Pradeep on 95974 35814, and D. Srihari, vice-president, on 78456 51795.
