In a move to cultivate scientific curiosity in young minds, the Indian Science Congress Association, Pondicherry Chapter and the Pondicherry Science Forum will hold science based competitions for school students here on National Science Day, observed on February 28 every year.
National Science Day marks the Nobel Prize-winning discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Fostering Scientific Temper.’
In keeping with the theme, elocution and skit contests are being conducted to encourage students to explore science in creative ways.
The competitions will be held under two categories- Junior (Class VII and VIII) and Senior (Class IX and X).
One student from each school can take part in the elocution contest. A maximum of five students are permitted for skit which should be timed less than six minutes.
Supported by the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, the competitions will be held at Pondicherry University on February 28.
Students will also get an opportunity to interact with experts on the day of the event.
The last day for registrations is Wednesday, February 26. Interested participants can email@example.com download applications from www.psfcerd.org.
