Students participated in the district-level competitions organised in connection with the national eye donation day celebrations at BHEL Matriculation School here on Thursday.
They enthusiastically participated in essay writing, poem composing and painting competitions held on the topic ‘eyes should be lit’.
Inaugurating the competitions, M. Palanivel, General Manager, Human Resource, BHEL, emphasised the need to spread awareness of eye donation.
Recently BHEL has started a campaign, ‘vision to all: BHELs’ call’ he stated. He urged the students to act as ambassadors to spread awareness among their friends and relatives.
K. Murali, Deputy General Manager - Administration and Krishnamurthy, Correspondent, BHEL Matriculation School, offered felicitations.
About 100 students from Adi Dravidar Welfare Higher secondary School, Little Flower Matriculation Higher secondary School, RSK Higher secondary school, Boiler Plant Boys Higher secondary School, Boiler Plant Girls Higher secondary School and BHEL Matriculation Higher secondary School from the district participated.
The programme was conducted by K. Selvaraj, eye donation motivator and co-ambassodor, ‘Vision to all- BHELs’ call’ campaign.
