TIRUCHI: The Assembly Committee on Public Accounts inspected some ongoing development works in the district on Tuesday.

Led by K.N.Lakshmanan, MLA, it inspected execution of underground drainage scheme sanctioned under the National River Conservation Programme for Srirangam and Golden Rock areas in the city and drinking water augmentation scheme at Srirangam, executed by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board.

It inspected construction of additional school building at Manchanallur Government Girls Higher Secondary School, road works at Kariamanickam and installation of sub-station at Kaliayapalayam, being set up at a cost of Rs.211.64 lakh.

Collector K.Nanda Kishore and Corporation Commissioner Harmander Singh accompanied it. Later, its members held talks with officials of various departments.

Messrs. M.Selvi Murugesan, C.Kanagathara, C.Durairaj, M.A.Hakkim and S.V.Thirugnanasambandam were the other committee members.
