The concept of ‘College Bazaar’ of Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women was launched with a view to create awareness about the products manufactured or marketed by the members of the women self-help groups across the colleges in the district, said Collector R. Lilly here on Thursday.

After inaugurating the ‘College Bazaar’, an exhibition of products made by women SHGs at the Don Bosco College of Arts and Science here, she said products of 17 SHGs were displayed such as tamarind, handicraft materials, eatables, coir mats, napkin and dolls of pet animals.

She also appealed to the Business Management students to provide support to the SHGs by doing case study analyses about the sustainability and viability of the women’s business proposals. This way, they can help them convert the ideas into successful business enterprises. Best projects would be rewarded by the district administration, she added.

The bazaar would be held at the college for three days from Thursday.
