In a protest against the district administration, 45 per cent of staff (out of 370) affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Revenue Officials’ Association went on a mass casual leave here on Thursday.

The agitators said the district administration was “anti-staff and targeted subordinate officials.” Without even holding inquiry, employees were either placed under suspension or removed from service, they said. However, the rest of the staff, who had reported for duty, said that action was initiated only against erring employees after the charges levelled against them were proved.
