Vellore Collector P. Sankar received 720 petitions from the public at the weekly public grievances redressal day meeting held at the Collectorate here on Monday.
The petitions were related to land pattas, patta transfers, free house site pattas, employment, request for financial assistance, assistance to the differently-abled, old age pension, police protection and power connection.
Action ordered
The Collector asked the officials to take immediate action on the petitions.
He also distributed on the occasion iron boxes worth Rs.33,363 to nine beneficiaries on behalf of the District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Office. A. Sundaravalli, District Revenue Officer, Madhusoodhana Reddy, Assistant Collector (Training), R. Mallika, Special Deputy Collector (Social Security Scheme), Subramanian, Deputy Collector (Stamps), Govindaraj, Assistant Director of Land Survey, Ameer Pasha, District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Officer, K. Kandasamy, District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer and Baby Subbulakshmi, Junior Employment Officer participated in the meeting.
