Collector P. Senthilkumar has promised the people of various villages in Udayarpalayam revenue division alternative arrangements for crossing the railway track.

The Collector received representations from the public regarding the problems they face because of the lorries who transport sugarcane from villages such as Nathankuzhi, Ilaikadambur and Nunniyur. As these lorries are unable to go through the road under-bridges carrying sugarcane, they take a different route causing inconvenience to the public, especially farmers.

Besides, the school-going children have represented that due to the stagnation of rainwater on the road under-bridge, they are forced to cross the railway track which is extremely dangerous.

The Collector inspected these locations on Saturday and consulted the railway officers whether it is possible to construct road over-bridges or whether the road under-bridges could be redesigned.

Those who accompanied the Collector include Kasturi, Revenue Divisional Officer, Udayarpalayam, Anandan, Assistant Divisional Engineer, and Ramsundar, tehsildar, Sendurai.
