PERAMBALUR: District Collector M. Vijayakumar distributed Rs.20.75 lakh worth of welfare assistance to 115 persons at a special mass contact programme conducted at Siruvachur Panchayat on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vijayakumar assured that the drinking water shortage in the village would be rectified within the next two months after the implementation of a combined drinking water supply scheme.

He also promised to take steps to construct a pedestrian overbridge at Siruvachur across the Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway to prevent accidents.
